Frequently Asked Questions
Are these history tours or comedy tours?
We offer history tours with funny elements. The guide is a former full-time stand-up comedian, but he's also a history dork. You're going to see the city, hear stories about the presidents and enjoy a few laughs.
What happens if it rains?
We can handle a little rain! But if really heavy rain is in the forecast, we will notify you via e-mail and offer you a reschedule or a refund.
How big are the groups?
We're currently limiting our tours to a maximum of eight patrons. The tours are outdoors and our guide is fully vaccinated.
My plans changed, can I get a refund?
We can offer refunds only when a tour is canceled. If you're unable to attend and you notify us at least a day in advance, we are happy to reschedule you to a different tour if possible.
Are these tours good for kids?
We don't have an age restriction, but these tours probably aren't for little kids -- it's a lot of history, plus some of the stories have "mature" elements. (Hey, they're presidents, not saints.) We recommend this tour for people 14 and older.
What do I need to bring?
It doesn't hurt to be prepared for the weather, since the tours are entirely outside. You might want to have a bottle of water. And in warmer months you might want bug repellant.
How do I find my guide? What if I'm late?
The starting point is listed in the tour description and will also be in your confirmation e-mail. Our guide will be there 15 minutes before the designated start time, holding a "Walking Backward" sign. We can hold the start of a tour for 5 minutes if people are running late, but after that the show must go on.
How much walking is involved? Are there rest stops?
The distance of each walking tour is included in its description. We're using paved surfaces and sidewalks, and there's only a little bit of uphill. There's an opportunity to sit down about halfway through each tour, but there are no public restrooms along the tour routes.
Do I need to have a reservation or can I just show up?
Reservations are required.
